Exclusion of the press and public To move that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the ensuing reports on the grounds that the report involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. Minutes: RESOLVED:
That, the Members being satisfied that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information that under Section 100(a)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the ensuing report on the grounds that the report involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972. |

Authority to commence a formal consultation process: management rationalisation and re-organisation Report of the Director of Place Minutes: The Director of Place introduced a report, which had been circulated in advance of the meeting, recommending staffing structure changes to the Housing, Growth and Regeneration Service, and Revenues and Welfare Service to deliver the outstanding efficiency targets and create a structure for the service. The report also sought authorisation for the proposals to go out for appropriate consultation.
RESOLVED to:
1) Support the proposals set out in the report and as detailed below for resourcing the Housing, Growth and Regeneration Service, and the Revenues and Welfare Service;
2) Authorise commencement of a formal consultation process comprising consultation with affected employees and recognised trade unions and a closure of consultation at a meeting of the Joint Consultative and Safety Committee;
3) Ask that the results of the consultation exercise be brought back to the Committee for consideration to inform the Committee’s decision in relation to the implementation of a revised senior management structure;
4) Note that when the structure had been determined, the Committee will also be responsible for appointment to all JNC Chief Officer posts through the methods identified in the proposals of the report; and
5) Note the background summary and financial impact of the report. |
