Consultation closure- implementation of mileage rates PDF 271 KB Report of the Director of Transformation (Acting Assistant Director Workforce) Minutes: The Director of Transformation presented a report, which had been circulated in advance of the meeting, to report the consultation response received from trade unions and from the Joint Consultative and Safety Committee (27 August 2024).
It also sought approval of the recommendation to implement the proposal for an electric vehicle car allowance rate that will supplement the other existing rates for travel already adopted by the Council together with the formalisation of the currently used cycle mileage rate.
RESOLVED to:
1) Receive the consultation comments from trade unions, and comments and recommendations from the Joint Consultative and Safety Committee (JCSC). 2) Authorise implementation the proposals set out in Section 4 of the report, having considered consultation feedback from trade unions and the JCSC

Any other item which the Chair considers urgent Minutes: The Director of Transformation confirmed that the position of Director of Operations was unfortunately vacant again due to the previously successful candidate choosing to not start in the role due to personal circumstances.
It was noted that the second-choice candidate was extremely employable and qualified and was therefore proposed that they be offered the job.
RESOLVED to:
Offer the second-choice candidate the role of Director of Operations

Exclusion of Press and Public To move that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the ensuing reports on the grounds that the report involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.
Minutes: RESOLVED:
That, the Members being satisfied that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information that under Section 100(a)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the ensuing report on the grounds that the report involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972. |

Electric Car Lease Scheme (Consultation commencement) Report of the Climate Change Officer & Director of Transformation Minutes: The Director of Transformation, along with the Climate Change Officer, presented a report, to seek authority to begin consultation with trade unions on a proposed policy for an employee-funded, electric only, salary sacrifice car lease scheme and to progress the adoption of the policy through the relevant committees of the council.
RESOLVED to:
1) Support the draft employee-funded, electric only, salary sacrifice car lease scheme and endorses the commencement of the consultation and implementation process as described 2) Note that, following the approval of this report and final implementation by the ACSC, the Council will begin an appropriate procurement exercise to appoint a preferred supplier to deliver the scheme |
