Consideration was given to a report of the Planning Policy Manager which had been referred to Council by the Cabinet meeting on 28 August 2014. The report requested theadoption of the Gedling Borough Aligned Core Strategy and the amended Policies Map as the statutory development plan for the borough, as supported by the findings of the independent examination into the submission version of the Aligned Core Strategy.

 

After discussion and on the requisition of two Members the motion was put to a named vote and the motion was carried.

RESOLVED to:

 

a)     adopt the Broxtowe Borough, Gedling Borough and Nottingham City Aligned Core Strategy, at Appendix C to the report (and including Appendix E of the Aligned Core Strategy which confirms the Gedling Borough Replacement Local Plan policies to be deleted);

b)     adopt the Policies Maps as amended as a consequence of the deletion of saved policies and the adoption of the new Core Strategy policies;

c)     delegate authority to the Corporate Director and the Chairman of Planning Committee to make any minor changes (e.g. typing errors, formatting and images) necessary prior to publication (such changes will not alter the context of Appendix C); and

d)     note that the adopted documents and an adoption statement will be published in accordance with Regulations 26 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

Councillor Pulk, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Development introduced a report of the Planning Policy Manager, which had been circulated prior to the meeting, presenting the Planning Inspector’s response to the Council’s Aligned Core Strategy.

 

RESOLVED:

 

a)    To agree that the Gedling Borough Aligned Core Strategy, as attached at Appendix C to the report(and including Appendix E of the Aligned Core Strategy which confirms which of the Gedling Borough Replacement Local Plan policies would be deleted) is submitted to Council for adoption.

 

b)    To agree the changes to the Policies Map as set out in Appendix D to the report, as a consequence of the deletion of saved policies and the adoption of new Core Strategy policies, under (a) above are submitted to Council for adoption.

 

c)    To recommend to Council authority is delegated to the Corporate Director and the Chair of Planning Committee to make any minor changes (e.g. typing errors, formatting and images) necessary prior to publication (such changes will not alter the content of Appendix C to the report); and

 

d)    To note that adopted documents and an adoption statement will be published in accordance with Regulations 26 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
