To allow a licence of Cornerstone House,
Newstead, to be granted to CAST Angling projects
Granting of licence of Cornerstone House to
CAST Angling Projects.
Up until 1 January 2017 CAST occupied the
premises on a peppercorn arrangement. The Council no longer has
funds to subsidise this group. The property is now considered to be
surplus and, subject to Portfolio Holder approval, is to be sold
for market value. In order to allow the group to make alternative
accommodation arrangements an interim measure of allowing them to
stay on in occupation until 12 December 2017 on a licence agreement
which provides for them paying a licence free of £300 per
month has been agreed,
An alternative would be to not grant the
licence. This would not give the Group much time to make
alternative accommodation arrangements.
