Purpose:

To give permission for Carlton Digby School to run ‘Forest School’ sessions at Digby Park, Mapperley as follows:
Dates/Times: Between February 2016 – July 2016, anytime from Monday – Friday between the hours of 9.30am and 3.00pm for 2 hour sessions as follows:
Session 1: Rules and exploring the site, Session 2: Exploring the site and collecting natural objects, Session 3: Minibeasts, Session 4: Building temporary shelters, Session 5: Mud and clay modelling, Session 6: Firebuilding

Decision:

That Carlton Digby School carry out their Forest School sessions to go ahead at Digby Park between February and July 2016, attendance, est. 8-10 pupil and 4/5 staff).
This decision is dependent on correct insurance and the issue of a user licence agreement indemnifying Gedling Borough Council in the event of accident for any activities held on the recreation ground.

Reasons for the decision:

To encourage Schools’ use of the Council’s Parks and Open Spaces for environmental education
