To enable external funding to be accessed that
supports local community organisations in their preparation for the
future running of community centres.
Decision:
That a £10,000 grant to the Council from
the national Community Ownership and Management of Assets Programme
is accepted.
Reasons for the decision:
The grant will assist local community
organisations interested in the future running of community centre
buildings with consultancy support and advice in the following
areas - business planning; governance and lease agreements;
financial management and accounting; capacity building and
organisational modelling, buildings surveys and
valuations.
Alternative options considered:
External funds are not accepted and all
financial support for community organisations will need to be
identified from an alternative source.
