Purpose:

To ensure that the client's couches can be effectively cleaned to help prevent client exposure to blood borne diseases.

Decision:

That an improvement order notice under section 3 (1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act be served.

Reasons for the decision:

A letter sent o the business in February 2013 had detailed that the client chairs/couches needed to be re-covered and a date of 17 July 2013had been agreed as deadline for completion.

On 17 July it was determined that the work had not been done and the couches/chairs were still damaged.
