To approve the provision of tree and grounds maintenance services, and street cleansing works to Gedling Borough Council clients who include, local residents, businesses and other public bodies and, to introduce Parks and Street Care (PASC) Services tree work rates, prices to be introduced with immediate effect.

Approval is given to provide tree and grounds maintenance services and street cleansing works to Gedling Borough Council clients who include local residents, businesses and other public bodies with immediate effect.
The hourly tree work rates for 2014/15 for the tree maintenance services are approved with immediate effect.
Standard Hourly Rate £63.47
Overtime Hourly Rate £78.99
This reflects a standard rate and an overtime rate for weekend working, and covers such things as equipment, vehicle and labour costs.
Any amount for such works will form part of PASC Services approved annual budget and all works will be charged on a full cost recovery basis.

Applying the charges will increase income generation opportunities for PASC in 2014/15 and ensure that corporate budget requirements are met and PASC operative posts continue to be funded, thereby providing local jobs for local people.

An alternative option would be to not authorise the provision of this service and the charges proposed. This would result in a loss of income for PASC Services.
