Purpose:

To give approval for the Carlton Hill Action Group to hold a community Summer Event on Carlton Hill Recreation Ground on 16th August 2026 between 11am and 4pm, set up from 8am and take down by 6pm.

Decision:

That the Carlton Hill Action Group be permitted to go ahead with their community summer event as outlined on the above date. Attendance, est. 500-900 (although 2000 is quoted on the event risk assessment).
This decision is dependent on the organisers providing to the Council the following:
a) Public liability insurance
b) An event management plan
c) A risk assessment
d) Health and safety documents for the inflatables
e) A TEN for the alcohol sales
f) The business names and hygiene rating for the food vendors
g) And signing a user licence agreement indemnifying Gedling Borough Council in the event of accident for any activities held on the recreation ground and to ensure the land is reinstated should any damage occur whilst accessing and exiting the site.

Reasons for the decision:

To encourage use of the Council’s Parks and Open Spaces
