Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Growth and Economy
Decision status: For Determination
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
The names chosen have a local connection and
are taken from either from the local legend that the pancake was
invented by the women of Linby village to celebrate the defeat of
Danish invaders (Pancake Way and Denmark Road) or from the names of
miners who lost their lives at Linby Colliery during its operation
between 1871 and 1988.
It is considered that the proposed names comply with the
Council’s Street Naming and Numbering Policy which states
that ‘ 1.5 It is desirable that any suggested road name
should have some connection with the area.’
