To direct award a supply and fit contract with William Sugg & Co Limited Lighting for £32,076.80 in 2023/24 and £38,091.20 in 20204/5. in accordance with Rule 35.3(iv) of the Council’s Contract and Procurement Rules.

Approve the direct award in accordance with Rule 35.3(iv) of the Councils Contract and Procurement Rules

3.1 The Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner have agreed to provide funding to the Council (under the name ‘Localities Funding’ for the delivery of the Home Office Safer Streets Funding Programme).

3.2 Part of the funding has been allocated to improving Street lighting in Arnot Hill Park. The funding is split over two years with £46 k allocated to the financial year 2023/2024 and £49k in the financial year 2024/2025. It is time limited and must be spent in these financial years.

3.3 As the grant funding is time limited. Any delay in implementing this scheme might have an impact on the delivery of the scheme. This could potentially also cause reputational damage to the Council.

We could opt to replace the existing columns at the same time, meaning we could use lighting heads from other suppliers, but this would incur and additional cost of around £5K per column and significantly reduce the number of units we could replace.
