Food Hygiene Improvement Notices

Reference: D145

Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Environment Communities and Leisure

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Visit following poor sampling results for cleaning at the Peking House, 9 Plains Road, Mapperley, Nottingham, revealed poor knowledge of food hygiene matters and a lack of controls and monitoring to ensure food safety.

Decision:

To serve Three Improvement Hygiene Notices: a) for the Food Business Operator to continue with the monitoring and recording of hazards and control points in a documented food management system; b) to relocate the washbasin to a more accessible location and c) for both kitchen staff members to undergo and complete Level 2 in Food safety in Catering.

Reasons for the decision:

To improve food hygiene standards and cleaning at the premises.

Regard was made to the department’s Enforcement Policy, guidance from the Food Standards Agency and The Food Law Code of Practice.

Alternative options considered:

Have previously considered informal action and raised cleaning and implementation of a documented food management system at previous inspections but the food business operator has failed to be consistent.
