To seek a decision and approval on the closure of three sites and the reduction in opening of two for the National Bank Holiday awarded for the Queens funeral to take place on Monday 19th September 2022

Three Leisure Facilities are closed completely and the two other sites reduce their hours below so they can show the funeral to residents who wish to attend:
•Arnold LC – Closed
•Bonington Theatre – 10.00am to 2.00pm to show the funeral
•Calverton LC – Closed
•Carlton Forum LC – Closed
•Redhill LC – Closed
•Richard Herrod – 10.00am to 7.00pm to show the funeral

All residents and staff of Gedling Borough Council have an opportunity to celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth II, share in their collective grief at her loss, and be given the opportunity to watch the funeral and her being laid to rest.

- Reduce sites opening times as we usually do during Bank Holidays but due to sensitivities around the Queens passing, this is not an option.
- Close Richard Herrod and The Bonnington Theatre completely. Many Residents may be on their own at this time and this would give them an opportunity to be with other people who want to celebrate her life and watch the funeral. Again, with sensitivities around the magnitude of the event this is not a palatable alternative.
