policy amount of £10,000
That:
The Portfolio Holder authorises the approval of a Discretionary
Disabled Facilities ‘Top Up’ Grant for circumstances
outside the current policy
The priorities within the current Gedling Plan
include:
•Reducing hardship and provide support to the most
vulnerable
•Improve health and wellbeing
Approving the grant will directly improve the health and wellbeing
for ‘A’, her family and her carers.
To not approve the grant and for the family to
fund the works themselves. The family have little funds to allocate
to the project as ‘A’s mum is not in paid employment as
she is a full time carer and also cares for their four other
children and dad is in low paid work. They have carried out home
improvements themselves in the past and these are of low quality
and are unsuitable for their daughters needs.
