Is Key decision?: No

Purpose:

Gedling Borough Council has been successful in bidding for grant funding under the On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme, from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles; to install 4 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points at four locations (16 columns total serving 32 bays) within the Borough for local residents to charge their vehicles overnight. Approval is sought for the grant monies to be expended in the manner set out in this report and to approve the establishment of the budget for this project.

Decision:

1)    Approve expenditure of the OLEV Grant Funding for the installation and operation of EV charging infrastructure as detailed in this report; and

2)    Approve the establishment, by virement, of the On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme budget of £100,600 to be funded by government grant.

Reasons for the decision:

To accept the On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme Grant offer from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles.

Alternative options considered:

To not accept the offer of grant funding. Should the Council chose to install EV charging points at the four identified sites, this would need to be met from Council funds.
