9The Head of Planning and Environment informed Members of the statutory consultation undertaken by officers on the draft Gedling Licensing Policy statement for 2008-2011 for future adoption by the Full Council.

During the period 23rd August to 15th November 2007 Gedling Borough Council had undertaken consultation of its draft Licensing Policy Statement in accordance with the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003 and national guidance.

The comments detailed in the report had been received during the consultation. Officers had viewed the comments in the light of the relevant legislation and national guidance and made changes to the draft Policy Statement which accompanied the report.

The Statement of Licensing Policy would be reviewed again in three years in line with the Licensing Act 2003, but would be looked at sooner if there were any substantial changes in the law which required an earlier review.
