That the minutes of the above meeting, having been circulated, be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

21 EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC AND PRESS
RESOLVED:

That the members being satisfied that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the ensuing reports on the grounds that the report involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

23 APPLICATION FOR A JOINT HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS LICENCE - MSB

RESOLVED:

To refuse the application from MSB for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers Licence on the basis that he is not a fit and proper person to hold a licence because of his previous convictions and his failure to disclose some of those convictions on his application form.
24 APPLICATION FOR A JOINT HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS LICENCE - AL

RESOLVED:

To defer consideration of the application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers Licence from AL to a future meeting of the Committee.

Having declared a prejudicial interest in Item 9, Councillor Paling vacated the Chair, which was taken up by Councillor Lawrence (Vice- Chair). Councillor Paling took no part in the discussion or voting on the following item.
25 APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF JOINT HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS LICENCE - MH

To refuse the application from MH for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers Licence on the basis that he is not a fit and proper person to hold a licence because of his previous convictions and his failure to disclose one of those convictions on his application form.

27 CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCE OF JOINT HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS LICENCE - AH

RESOLVED:

To revoke the Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Vehicle Licence held by AH on the grounds that AH is no longer a fit and proper person to hold such a licence due to his recent convictions.

Councillor Clark left the meeting.
28 APPLICATION FOR A JOINT HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS LICENCE - MA

19Councillor Paling declared a prejudicial interest in Agenda Item 9, as she had been approached by an associate of the applicant to discuss the item prior to the meeting. Councillor Paling, therefore, vacated the chair during and took no part in discussion or voting on Item 9.

MM did not attend the meeting.

MSB attended the meeting and addressed the Committee.
