35Apologies for Absence were received from Councillor Clarke.

38Consideration was given to a report of the Service Manager, Organisational Design, having been previously circulated, informing Cabinet of the practical measures agreed by the Senior Leadership Team to encourage and develop opportunities for apprenticeships, internships and work experience provision within and beyond the organisation.
39Consideration was given to a report of the Council Solicitor and Monitoring Officer and the Service Manager, Elections and Members' Services, notifying Cabinet of the introduction of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 and raising awareness of the implications in relation to executive decision-making.
41Councillor Pulk (Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Development)

• The Calverton Parish Plan is currently out for consultation and residents are being encouraged to respond.
• A shoppers' survey conducted during the school holidays proved to be popular with results being analysed and publicised soon.
• A number of Olympic and Paralympic legacy events have been planned, including new opportunities for coaching and volunteering.
• A health promotion and exercise referral scheme would continue into the next financial year.
• A decision on the application to Sport England to obtain funding to refurbish Arnold Leisure Centre changing rooms is expected shortly.
• Councillor Pulk paid tribute to Trevor Costall, a very well known and respected bowls player, was recently passed away.

Councillor Hollingsworth (Portfolio Holder for Health and Housing)

• Councillor Hollingsworth paid tribute to the Homelessness Team who had been coping with are coping with an increased case load.
• The housing benefits reform consultation has now closed.
• Turf has recently been cut at the Arnold Health Centre which is very encouraging.
• The Clinical Commissioning Group will move into the Civic Centre imminently.

Councillor Fox (Portfolio Holder for Community Engagement)

• Councillor Fox spoke about her recent tour of the Borough's community centres to witness their good work first hand.
• Locality Managers for Newstead and Netherfield have been appointed and a launch event for the new service will be held shortly.
• A report on neighbourhood/locality working arrangements would be submitted to the next meeting of Cabinet.
• A successful parish liaison meeting was recently held with further events planned.

Councillor Creamer (Portfolio Holder for Environment)

• Photovoltaic panels have now been installed and will be in operation shortly at the Richard Herrod Centre.
• The site of the former Druids pub is currently being cleared and will be made available as a free car park in the run up to Christmas.

Councillor Payne (Portfolio Holder for Public Protection and Communications)

• A Chinese delegation visited Gedling BC recently to learn about the English public sector. The visit was very successful and staff were thanked for their efforts.
• A recent audit of the way the Council's legal team conducts the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act processes was carried out and passed with flying colours.
• The Council has entered the Local Government Chronicle's Council of the year competition.
42In response to a question from Councillor Barnfather, Councillor Payne advised that the results of the Gedling Conversation would be shared with ward Councillors wherever possible.
