RESOLVED:

That the minutes of the above meeting be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
73 DECLARATION OF INTERESTS.
 
74 PRESENTATION ON DECRIMINALIZED PARKING AND CAR PARK CHARGING
RESOLVED:

A. On Street Parking.

1) That the position be noted and that negotiations with the County Council continue with a view to the Borough Council participating in the proposed County scheme for civil enforcement of on-street parking.

B. Off Street Parking

1) To agree a charge of 20 pence for the first hour, 50 pence up to two hours and to consult further with retailers within the next three months on appropriate step ups.

2) To not introduce car park charging in Netherfield at this time, but to keep the matter under review.

3) To increase the number of parking permits to 10% of spaces available and to offer packages for payment for 6 months or more rather than quarterly.

4) To offer a period of free parking for disabled badge holders in marked disabled parking bays.

5) To aim to implement the arrangements with effect from January 2007.

75Appointment of Head of Planning and Environment

Cabinet Members were notified of the proposed appointment to the post of Head of Planning and Environment and were asked to make any objections that they may have to the appointment by Friday 19th August 2005.
