1Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Bexon and Pulk.

4The Annual Audit and Inspection Letter 2007/8, the Annual Audit Fee 2009/10 and Supplementary Opinion Audit Plan 2008/9 from the Audit Commission were submitted. The auditor attended and responded to Members' questions on the contents of the documents.
5The Manager of Audit & Risk Services reported on progress in the implementation of previous Internal Audit recommendations.
6The Manager of Audit & Risk Services submitted a report that updated members of the Audit Sub-Committee on the current level of assurance that could be provided against each corporate risk. Members received further detail of the risks reported and steps taken to address these.
7The Manager of Audit & Risk Services provided a summary report of all investigated cases of fraud and irregularities identified during the 2008-09 financial year. The action taken, sanctions imposed and level of recovery achieved in respect of the identified cases of fraud and irregularities were detailed and considered by the Committee.
9The Manager of Audit & Risk Services submitted a report on the activity of the Internal Audit section during the 2008-09 financial year.

The report also provided assurance on the internal control systems across the Authority to support the Annual Governance Statement provided within the Annual Statement of Accounts.
